SUNDAY REWIND: 5 essential elements of perfect product messaging

This week’s Sunday Rewind takes us back a few years to a post from Elisabeth Cullivan Thomas that examines how to get a product’s marketing messages right.

Elisabeth says: “One of the first things that I think about when launching a new product or service is how do we get people to notice? How do we get people to come? Just because you offer something wonderful and that you are passionate about does not mean you will instantly attract customers. Building a marketing message foundation that includes your core purpose, mission and values will help position your product for success.”

Elisabeth then runs us through five fundamental elements that a product’s marketing messaging should contain: understanding the target market, understanding their pain points, solving their problems, the benefits you offer, and what differentiates your product from others in the same market.

She says: “These steps are essential pieces to developing clear and valuable product messaging. Not only will your customers clearly understand what you offer, but your team will thank you when they are confidently delivering a consistent story when speaking with customers.”
