Four exceptional speakers to look forward to at #mtpcon London
There is only a month until our flagship event, #mtpcon London, and the lineup is starting to look exciting! Here are four amazing speakers who will be taking to the #mtpcon main stage on 20 October.
Tim Harford
Tim Harford is a world-renowned behavioural economist, award-winning Financial Times columnist, data detective and BBC broadcaster. Described as ‘Britain’s Malcolm Gladwell’ (and as a genius at telling stories that illuminate our world’ by Gladwell himself) and by the New Statesman as ‘perhaps the best popular economics writer in the world’, Tim brings storytelling, humour, and intelligence to the world of data and statistics.
A regular TED speaker, Tim regularly looks at why it’s so hard yet so important for teams to learn from mistakes, how to deal with uncertainty, how forecasting works and what to do when it doesn’t.

Susana Lopes
Susana is a B2B product management leader with over ten years of scale-up experience. This includes six years at Onfido fighting identify fraud by launching multiple award-winning machine learning products and growing year-on-year revenue x10 multiple times. Today she leads product and design at Abatable: a series A, B-Corp certified, startup in the climate space.
In her talk at #mtpcon, Susana will share the roles and responsibilities of senior ICs based on practices from companies such as Intercom, Microsoft, Gitlab, Remote, Farewill, Depop and others. She aims to help us influence the career ladder at our companies and explore the type of role you might enjoy growing into.

Claire Woodcock
Claire is a product leader specialising in ML-powered products. Her experience spans social media, healthcare, entertainment, finance, and biometrics. Claire is a passionate advocate for responsible product development.
Beyond implementing responsible ML practices in real-world products, she has also been published in the field of explainable and trustworthy AI. She has led diverse AI-powered teams, ranging from full-stack teams covering Design to Applied Science to commercial research labs. Previously at Twitter, Onfido, and Babylon Health, and currently at Mozilla.Social as Director of Product for ML.
