August at ProductTanks: Building product in the AI age, and Go-to-market

ProductTanks, created by Mind the Product, are informal meetups that bring local product people together and provide a space to new speakers to share amazing product insights. With over 200 cities hosting ProductTanks globally, we're excited to highlight some of these fantastic meetups.

The summer holidays didn't stop ProductTank, and In August we had 46 meetups across the world, bringing together passionate product people to connect, learn, and share insights. In this roundup, we’re spotlighting a few events: from the impact of GenAI on digital product development to a hands-on go-to-market workshop.

Göttingen

‘✨ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁! ✨

Last night, we officially kicked off ProductTank Göttingen with our very first meetup 🎉 Thank you Manuel Ton and Sebastian Wolf for the journey so far. 😍

With a full house of curious minds, I had the chance to give a presentation on the impact of Generative AI

- How is GenAI reshaping product management activities?

- What does this mean for high-performing teams?

- How do we as product people make the most of these new opportunities?

The discussion that followed showed exactly what we hoped for: a space in Göttingen where product managers, designers, developers, and innovators can learn from each other, share perspectives, and grow together. 🚀

A huge thank you to our amazing sponsors who made this possible:

👏 StartRaum Göttingen Jonas Brunnert for providing such an inspiring space in the heart of our city.

👏 isi. sensory futures Joachim Haag and Robert Möslein for sponsoring the drinks during our networking session.

And of course, thanks to everyone who joined us for the evening. Your curiosity, questions, and energy made this first gathering really special.

We’re excited to build this community together. 💡

Thank you Nacho Bassino and the Mind the Product team for your support in the last months.’

San Francisco

ProductTank San Francisco ‘Full house for last week's ProductTank SF event! Last Wednesday at NEON, Tom Alterman shared some valuable (real-life) lessons in building Voice AI Agents:

- Tech is not the problem, weak system design is

- Don’t fall for the “happy path” myth (80% are messy edge cases)

- Treat your agent like a new employee: train, coach, set guardrails - maybe even write a handbook

Big big thanks to NEON for hosting us and to Vapi for sponsoring F&B! The outdoor garden, charcuterie boards, and drinks made for great mingling 👋🍷🧀

Keep an eye out for our September event - we'll be sharing details soon!

Bengaluru

One of our organisers, Priya Subbukutti summarised the meetup:

‘The question isn’t what AI can do for us — it’s what we should be doing with AI.

That thought set the tone for our ProductTank Bengaluru gathering at the Walmart Global Tech campus, where the theme was:

✨ AI × Product: Building with Intent in the Age of Intelligence

The Keynote – When I reached out to Rohit Ramanand, it was almost last minute. Without hesitation, he jumped in and delivered a keynote that reframed how we think about AI. It wasn’t about tools or features, but about intent, purpose, and long-term vision. A powerful lens that stayed with us.

The Storyteller – Ganesh Hegde, and if you’ve ever heard Ganesh speak, you’ll know what I mean when I say he’s a natural storyteller. He walked us through his career journey, the problems he’s tackled with AI, and left us reflecting on the sweet spot: where AI excels, and where the human spark is irreplaceable. His talk was equal parts engaging and grounding.

The Deep Dive – Anchal Sood brought it all home with her session on building AI products with a security-first mindset. Practical, detailed, and absolutely essential in today’s world. She reminded us that innovation without security is a house built on sand.

But here’s the part that makes me the proudest — the product community.

The energy in the room, the thoughtful questions, the way people leaned in to learn and share… that’s why ProductTank Bengaluru feels like home.

To everyone who joined us, spoke, or supported — thank you.

Thank you to my wonderful ProductTank Bengaluru organising team (Amit Godbole Justin Paul Srivatsan Sundaravaradan Ashwini Prasannakumar Anish K) and the Walmart Events team (Lydia Joseph Vardaan Tripathi) for the seamless support. You make it look effortless, but I know the dedication it takes behind the scenes.

Here’s to building products with intent, purpose, and clarity — in the age of intelligence.’

‘🚀 Product Workshop | Modern Go-to-Market Proven Frameworks: A Game-Changing Saturday!

Saturdays usually start with a slow morning—coffee, a little reading and playing with my Child, and then I get ready to tackle the weekend head-on. But today? Today was different. 😎

Instead of my usual routine, I had the pleasure of attending the Mind the Product Ahmedabad’s Product Workshop, and what a game-changing experience it turned out to be!

The day started with a warm and heartfelt welcome from Hemal Bhatt, the humble organizer who instantly made everyone feel at ease. His energy set the tone for the rest of the event. 🙏

Then, I was introduced to the attendees by Pranjal Sarkar, who gave a quick rundown of my engagement with the community and shared some of my experiences in the IT industry. It was a great feeling to be able to connect with so many like-minded professionals.

The icebreaker kicked off with a fun and interactive game of Bingo! —designed to help us get to know our fellow attendees and their hobbies. Guess what? I was the first one to shout “Bingo!” and was announced as the winner! 🎉 It was a great way to start the day and build some instant connections.

Next up was a thought-provoking Group Discussion on a critical topic: How to get your first 100 customers. We planned and discussed real-world strategies, delving into the Why? and the Outcome of different approaches. It was insightful to learn about the challenges many of us face and how we can break through that initial barrier.

Then, we dove into the heart of the workshop—the 5P Framework. We explored in great detail each step required to successfully take a product to market. From Product and People to Positioning, Pricing, and Promotions —the framework truly shed light on how strategic and thoughtful go-to-market planning is!

The event wrapped up with Shivam S. taking over to discuss crafting a solid Pitchdeck for your go-to-market product. It was hands-on and practical, leaving everyone with clear takeaways. We closed out the day with a final photoshoot and some excellent networking with fellow professionals who share the same passion for product management. 🤝

A big thank you to Mind the Product Ahmedabad for organising such an enriching workshop, and to Xenett for hosting us. Special shout-out to all three Pranjal Sarkar Hemal Bhatt Shivam S. speakers, facilitators, and attendees for making this day a truly memorable learning experience.

I’m excited to apply these frameworks to future projects and share the results. And I’m already looking forward to the next opportunity to connect, learn, and grow together.’
