Vennie's First Week: Fixes, Features & Polish
Memory controls, dark mode for everyone, video fixes, and a week of post-launch polish.
New Features
- What's New" notification bell — A megaphone icon in the navbar now shows recent product updates so you never miss what's shipped. Tap it to see the latest entries without leaving the page.
- Topic search in the content sidebar — You can now search for topics directly from the content sidebar instead of scrolling through the full list.
- Memory controls in Settings — Vennie remembers context from your conversations to give better answers over time. You can now disable this entirely from Settings → Privacy if you prefer a clean slate every time.
- Dark mode for everyone — Anonymous and signed-out users can now toggle dark mode from the sidebar. Previously this was only available after signing in.
- Deep-linkable settings tabs — You can now link directly to a specific settings tab using URL parameters (e.g. /app/settings?tab=privacy). Useful for sharing or bookmarking.
Improvements
- Chat message queuing — Messages you send while Vennie is still responding are now queued and processed in order, instead of being dropped. No more lost messages during fast conversations.
- Chat input stays focused — Fixed a bug where the chat input would lose focus after sending a message, forcing you to click back into it every time.
- Smoother rate limit transitions — If you start chatting while signed out and then sign in, your rate limits now correctly reset to the signed-in tier. Previously they could get stuck at the anonymous limit.
- Videos load reliably — Fixed two separate issues that caused videos to crash or fail to load entirely. The video player has been refactored for stability.
- Mobile layout — The Vennie UI now works properly on mobile devices with correct layout, sidebar toggling, and sign-up button positioning.
- Featured article images — Fixed missing cover images on featured content pages.
- Skill Radar rendering — Fixed a display bug in the Skill Radar chart and ensured analytics tracking loads correctly.
Fixes
- Navigation between app and main site — Fixed an issue where signed-in users couldn't navigate back to the main marketing site from the app.
- Conference navigation updated — Updated navbar links and labels for the Chicago conference, including the industry domain redirect.
