The Role
Peek’s SaaS solution is transforming access to eye care in The Global South. By enabling non-clinicians to screen for vision problems and by surfacing data insights throughout patients’ journeys, we help eye health programmes reach more people and deliver better outcomes. In early 2022, Peek supported eye care services reaching 12,000 people per week. Today, that number is 120,000 people per week - by 2029 we aim to reach 1 million people every week. To achieve this ambitious goal, we are looking for a Product Manager who is passionate about social impact and committed to guiding the delivery of high-value, meaningful product outcomes as we adapt to the challenges of scale.
You are a product manager with demonstrative experience in software product management. You thrive in environments that require balancing competing priorities, navigating uncertainty, and making informed decisions. You can take ownership of iterative delivery cycles from discovery to launch, ensuring that every decision is grounded in data - both quantitative and qualitative.
If you’re excited by the opportunity to scale technology for social good and want to play a key role in expanding access to vision care globally, we’d love to hear from you.
Peek’s culture promotes individual ownership, accountability and collaboration across and within teams, with team leads playing a supportive role in wellbeing, development and prioritisation. Peek’s staff are distributed internationally around the globe and our customers and software users operate and deliver programmes in multiple countries. Travel to programmes using Peek in different countries will be part of the role (in line with Peek’s Travel Safety Policy).
Responsibilities and Attributes
The 6 key responsibilities of the role are:
Co-own the product discovery process, collecting internal and external evidence which helps define the project-level needs and direction.
Deliver continuous value aligned with our product strategy and define clear, measurable success metrics.
Collaborating with the Head of Product and Services and fellow product managers to ensure that product development cycles inform and contribute to the implementation of the product roadmap.
Own and maintain a continuously prioritised product backlog, which is driven by end-user and business needs.
Communicate progress updates, learnings & insights, keeping key stakeholders aligned on what’s planned, in progress, and delivered.
Own key Agile ceremonies whilst also contributing to the optimisation of our delivery flow to ensure work is delivered on time and quality is built-in.
The 5 key attributes we have identified for the role are:
Excellent prioritisation & decision making skills. You are comfortable at evaluating trade-offs and explaining decisions with clear rationale.
An ability to translate technical details for non-technical stakeholders and manage their expectations.
You will push the team to measure and prove outcomes, not just deliver features.
Understanding of delivery lifecycles and comfortable operating without a dedicated software delivery team.
Can breakdown big features into incremental slices of value which can be delivered for early adoption and rapid learning
Desirable attributes for the role are:
Experience of working on software products designed for use in low- and middle-income countries.
Experience of working with Software as a Service (SaaS) products.
Experience of working with data science and data engineering teams
Experience supporting product rollouts, training and driving feature adoption
Experience working across distributed and cross-cultural teams
Technical fluency in data and systems integration.
About Peek
1.1 billion people live with avoidable or preventable vision loss. This number is set to grow to 1.8 billion by 2050. The vast majority (90%) need just a simple pair of glasses or cataract surgery. So why do so many not have access to these simple, life-changing solutions?
Across the world, eye health professionals work tirelessly. But they face huge challenges. Resources are scarce, specialists are in short supply, patients don’t arrive at appointments and outcomes can be hard to track. Many people with vision loss don’t know a solution exists or struggle to reach care. They remain invisible to health services.
Peek Vision is a social enterprise that works with NGOs and governments to bring vision and eye health to everyone. Our software and data intelligence platform strengthens health systems and optimises school, community and workplace eye health services. With Peek, eye health providers can identify gaps and inequalities in their services. People who would have been invisible to health workers or hard to reach are made visible, so that nobody is left behind.
By 2050, we aim to prevent 1.25 billion people from needlessly losing their eyesight.
We are dynamic, impact-driven and award-winning. Our products have been developed in collaboration with eye health providers, professional bodies and researchers. They reflect global best practices in health systems decision-making. We currently offer eye health providers:
Rapid assessments: Software and tools to help programme planners understand their populations’ eye health needs.
Peek-powered programmes: Software to implement, optimise and evaluate eye health services in schools and communities.
Peek is powering eye health programmes in multiple countries. Millions of people have their vision screened using Peek each year.
