About Kilsar

Kilsar is building the future of maintenance training and sustainment through AI. Our mission is to modernize how technical personnel—from aircraft maintainers to A&P students—access, retain, and act on complex maintenance knowledge. Our software enables organizations to capture tribal knowledge, streamline technical training, and deliver real-time insights through natural language interfaces and AI-powered diagnostics.

We leverage cutting-edge natural language processing (NLP), OCR, and generative AI to enhance decision-making across aviation, defense, and industrial sectors. Whether in hangars, classrooms, or contested field environments, Kilsar's technology is designed to function in low-bandwidth, secure, and high-stakes settings.

We're looking for a Product Manager to own the product roadmap across our learner-facing mobile platform and Orion, our in-app AI engine. If you want to ship product that real maintainers and instructors use to keep critical systems mission-ready, we'd love to connect.

Role Overview

Kilsar is seeking a Product Manager to own discovery, prioritization, and delivery across our full B2B product surface—including Orion, our AI engine for operator augmentation and procedural-knowledge insights.

This is a high-impact role at the intersection of customer insights, go-to-market, and platform development: you'll report to and work closely with our Director of Engineering & Product on strategy and execution, and serve as the connective tissue between customers (USAF, commercial aviation, A&P schools, manufacturing) and the engineering team.

You'll set the bar for how Kilsar talks to customers, scopes features, and decides what to build and what not to build.

What you'll do:

  • Own the end-to-end product roadmap across the Kilsar platform and Orion AI, in partnership with the Director of Engineering & Product.

  • Lead customer discovery: site visits to hangars, classrooms, and ops centers; structured interviews; synthesis into clear product bets.

  • Translate customer needs into crisp PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria the engineering team can ship against.

  • Run prioritization with engineering and design—make hard tradeoffs and communicate the reasoning across the company.

  • Partner with the Customer Feedback & Support function to close the loop from production signal back into the roadmap.

  • Drive go-to-market readiness for new features: enablement materials, customer comms, success metrics, post-launch monitoring.

  • Define and instrument product metrics; build the analytics muscle the team uses to decide what's working.

  • Represent the product to enterprise customers in working sessions, QBRs, and pre-sales conversations.

  • Help shape Kilsar's AI product strategy as Orion expands into instructor augmentation and analytics.

What we're looking for:

  • US citizenship is mandatory (role supports U.S. federal customers).

  • Based in the U.S. East Coast time zone.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Education, or a related field.

  • 3–5 years of product management experience at a B2B SaaS company, with at least one role at an early- or growth-stage startup (Seed–Series B).

  • Demonstrated ownership of a product area end-to-end: discovery → definition → ship → measure → iterate.

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity. You can walk into an undefined problem, frame it, and come back with a recommendation rather than a list of questions.

  • Proven ability to translate customer complexity into modular, scalable product solutions.

  • Customer-facing fluency. You're comfortable running discovery calls with a USAF maintenance supervisor, a director of training at an aviation school, and a manufacturing plant manager.

  • Strong written communicator. You can land a PRD and a customer-facing release note with equal clarity.

You'd be a great fit, if you:

  • Have shipped AI/ML-driven product features in a B2B context (especially LLM, RAG, or generative-AI)—bonus if your customers were in edtech, training, knowledge management, aviation, aerospace, defense, or industrial/manufacturing settings.

  • Turn ambiguity into clarity. You translate customer signals and workflows into clear product direction that balances user needs and technical constraints.

  • See patterns in the noise. You cut through scattered customer feedback, regulatory shifts, and market signals to prioritize product features.

  • Build cross-functional trust. You communicate clearly across teams and navigate technical and strategic discussions with confidence.

  • Drive alignment with precision. You break down complex inputs into actionable product specs that keep engineering, deployment, and leadership on the same page.

  • Want to build from zero to one. As our first PM, you'll shape how we scale across verticals, streamline onboarding, and define the future of our product.

  • Understand how things fit together. You’re fluent in technical tradeoffs, configuration design, and how infrastructure maps to user value.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary ranging from $125,000 to $165,000 USD based on experience.

  • Opportunities for Equity based on experience and performance.

  • Unlimited PTO.

  • Comprehensive insurance coverage.

  • Annual company outing.

  • Educational budget for professional development.

  • Flexible remote work environment.

Application Process

Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume and a brief note (no formal cover letter required) describing one product decision they made that they're proud of—what the call was, why they made it, and how it turned out. Kilsar is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from candidates of all backgrounds.
