World Product Day 2026 is coming

If there is one thing I’ve learned as Head of Community @ MTP, it’s that our community is incredibly powerful and resilient... and truly, that's what's been propelling me through these tumultuous but exciting times.

That’s why I’m so excited to ask you to do one simple thing today: mark your calendars for May 20th, 2026.

World Product Day is returning, and honestly? We’re going all out this year. Our team is already vibrating with the energy of planning what I genuinely believe will be our biggest celebration to date.

Resilience: because no one builds alone

This year, we chose a theme that feels close to home for all of us right now: resilience.

Let’s be real, the last few years haven’t exactly been a walk in the park. We’ve faced shifting markets, "unprecedented" everything, and the constant pressure to do more with less. But through it all, this community hasn't stalled. You’ve shared your challenges, swapped "war stories" in the trenches, and kept each other moving.

The community is the moat. It’s the one thing that can’t be automated or replicated. When we connect, progress happens. We’ve seen it time and again: together, we build what is next.

What we’re bringing to the table

We wanted to make sure 2026 felt like a true homecoming, whether you’re joining us in person or from your desk. Here is what we have cooking that we'll share with you soon:

• Showcasing your stories: we built this cool interactive map to celebrate where you can read real stories from product people and share your own! We want to see this map LIT UP so get your stories in.
• The return of the World Product Day awards: We’re bringing back the spotlight for the teams and individuals who are doing the hard, quiet work of building great things.
• ProductTank meetups: Our local organizers are already prepping. Expect hundreds of in-person meetups across the globe where you can finally put down the screen and pick up a conversation.
• A brand new challenge: For the first time ever, we’re launching a fully virtual global hackathon. We wanted a way for our entire community to build together across borders. The best part? We’ll be announcing the winner on World Product Day.

Let’s make it count

I’ve always believed that the best product advice doesn’t come from a textbook; it comes from the person sitting next to you who just solved the same problem you’re facing.

So, block out May 20th. Start thinking about cool ideas you haven't gotten around to exploring ahead of the hackathon. But most importantly, get ready to celebrate. We’ve earned this. Stay tuned about the hackathon and awards!
