What these numbers mean
Each group uses a single role family, experience level, country and currency. Titles such as “Sr Product Manager” are normalised; unspecified levels stay separate. Remote roles need an identifiable pay country. Comparing groups does not convert currencies or adjust for living costs.
Percentiles use individual advertised range midpoints, with linear interpolation. The 50th percentile is the median. Benchmark pay uses all eligible midpoints in the selected group, counting values below your amount plus half the values equal to it. These describe listings, not employee earnings or a guaranteed offer.
We include full-time openings with confirmed annual base-pay summaries from Ashby, or a single explicit annual base-salary range in Greenhouse and Lever descriptions, verified within 72 hours. Ambiguous currencies, multiple geographic pay ranges and sources without a reliable annual pay period are excluded. Duplicate roles across cities count once per employer and country. Bonuses, equity and hourly rates are excluded.
Groups need 5 distinct roles and 3 employers. “Broader sample” means at least 20 roles across 5 employers; it is not a confidence score. Only broader samples show P90. Employer and location comparisons require 3 roles. Job data loads up to 200 rows; aggregate charts and benchmarking use the full eligible group. Published salaries may not represent the wider market.
