How do I get to the Barbican Centre?
The Barbican is easy to get to via public transport or walking. Get directions from the Barbican’s website.
Are the talks recorded?
We record the keynote presentations and the breakout sessions on each day of the event. Speed networking, roundtables, and the digital expo are not recorded. Videos and write-ups of the talks will all be available to Prioritised and MTP Leader members on our blog and the membership dashboards after the conference (membership is included with most conference tickets or can be purchased separately here).
I am not a member and am not attending the event – can I get a copy of the talks?
Videos and write-ups of the talks will all be available to Prioritised and MTP Leader members only. You can become a member today! Join us.
Will I be able to have a copy of the talk slides after the conference?
We do not distribute slides from the conference talks as the content belongs to the speakers, however, we are happy to share the ones that have been made publicly available (just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org).
Is there a coat or bag check at the venue?
There is a manned coat and bag check at the Barbican which you can use as soon as you’re through registration. Just ask one of our team if you can’t find it!
What food and refreshments will be provided at the conference events?
A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Coffee, water, and snacks will be available all day (including barista coffee being served on the Stalls Foyer). If you bring a reusable water bottle, refill stations will be located around the venue. Snacks & drinks will be available at the drinks reception after closing remarks.
Will special food be provided for special dietary requirements?
We will always provide at least one vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free option as well as dairy alternatives for coffee and tea. Given the scale of the event and the limitations of the venue, we are unable to cater to specific dietary requirements or allergies, although food is marked with allergens. If you have specific questions about dietary needs please get in touch beforehand.
What is a ‘hybrid’ event?
In case you’re new to the hybrid scene, a ‘hybrid’ event is the combination of an in-person experience and a virtual experience. For #mtpcon London+EMEA 2021, you can choose to attend just the digital aspects of the event or mix it up and attend in person too – whatever your choice, we guarantee you’ll come away feeling inspired, motivated, and equipped to build better products!
In a nutshell, can you explain the event to me?
#mtpcon London+EMEA will be a two-day hybrid event for product people who want to come together to hone their craft, meet their community, and learn how to build better products.
Day 1 will be fully digital – whether you have a digital-only or a hybrid ticket, we want to build on the things we’ve learned this year, running impactful online sessions, raising more voices in our community with breakout speakers, Q&A sessions, roundtables, networking, chat, and of course some stellar keynote speakers who might not be able to fly to London. We want to lean into the elements that really make digital events great. This will give everyone the chance to start on the same foot and make sure you are all connected to each other and the event. It’ll be a truly global experience, from the comfort of your home.
Day 2 is when things go fully hybrid – we will design two experiences (one physical and one digital) that center around the same main stage keynote content happening IRL at the Barbican Centre in London, but also factors in the differences in format (read on for more info).
Should I wait to book my in-person ticket until things are clearer?
If you feel in any way that you would be uncomfortable at a physical event, we don’t recommend booking now. However, if you are on the fence, our advice would be to book your ticket as soon as possible. We have restrictions on the number of attendees we can welcome to the Barbican this year so do not delay in booking your ticket. If the in-person event does not go ahead then we will offer you the opportunity to either switch to the digital conference with a partial refund, or request a full refund if online events just aren’t your thing. And of course, we have always maintained a no-questions-asked refund policy up to a month before our in-person conferences. We will know so much more by September and will continue to be transparent as things develop and we understand what we can do responsibly.
Is there a schedule for the event days?
We have planned two days full of product learning for you. Check out the full schedule here.
Who is speaking at the conference?
We have an impressive lineup of world-renowned keynote speakers at their year’s conference. Learn more about each speaker here.
I am interested in speaking / I represent a speaker who is interested in speaking – what are my next steps?
We review speakers on a rolling basis and often have speakers confirmed for events a year in advance. You can learn more about speaking for Mind the Product and apply to speak on our website. Someone who doesn’t fit our current line-up might be a good fit for another event, so we will keep the application in case it’s relevant for one of our other events.
