He is often called in at the CPO/Head of Product level to help them with strategy, scaling and increasing their organization’s product maturity. His experience pans across many different industries and companies of all shapes and sizes – from start-ups to large corporates. He loves great coffee, a good laugh and building meaningful products.

CTO at Zalora

Silvia Thom is the Chief Technology Officer at Zalora, the leading fashion e-commerce company in South East Asia. Prior to her appointment as CTO, she served as their Senior Director of Product Management & Engineering, responsible for product engineering across the regional Zalora tech portfolio. She has extensive experience as a product and tech leader roles at fast-growth companies including beauty subscription service Glossybox and Sellaband, a music crowd-funding platform, where she was country manager for Japan.

Silvia is also a passionate supporter of the product community, as co-organiser of ProductTank Singapore.

Often, we discuss product development cycle or sprint planning as though they are siloed processes, when in reality, product teams also need to respond to market dynamics and business needs. At the same time, business teams need a a way of inserting themselves into the product development cycle.

How can product teams be more business-oriented? How can business teams embrace the product mindset? In this session, Priscilla will be sharing a framework for better collaboration between business and product so that organizations can be more agile and respond to emerging business context. She will share some practical tips on how to navigate these collaboration conversations and open a Q&A to address additional questions or specific cases from the audience.

She is particularly driven about new product development and has a strong ‘building for the consumer’ mindset. Currently, she is building a new friend discovery app, Vibe under the umbrella of Hike Pvt. Ltd. and has been instrumental in taking the product from 0 to 100.
