About this role
Hey folks,
I’m looking for a freelance / contract Product Manager for a short-term, fully remote engagement (initially around 6 months, rolling month-to-month). There is no travel required, but you must be comfortable working primarily in UK time hours. The role is focused on helping us improve how we translate messy problems into build-ready work for engineering.
We’re a B2B SaaS business in the contact centre, QA and conversation intelligence space, working heavily with AI. The product is in a good place and shipping regularly but with AI making our engineering team 10x faster - we’re falling behind within Product.
The problems we’re trying to solve
Product ideas and signals are plentiful (Gong, customer feedback, sales insight), but they’re often not work-ready for engineering without a lot of back-and-forth.
Definitions of Done are inconsistent, which makes delivery feel harder than it needs to be.
Discovery happens, but the translation from insight → problem → ticket is too dependent on a small number of people.
How we work
Kanban across 2 squads of 4 engineers (primarily backend / frontend split)
Jira suite for roadmapping, delivery and documentation
Gong for call recordings and insight
Productboard for customer feedback (likely to be replaced)
Lovable and Claude for prototyping
What you’d be doing day-to-day
Take loose problem statements, roadmap themes and customer signals and turn them into clear, build-ready problem briefs.
Work with engineers to define the problem, evidence and context, Definition of Done, and scope boundaries.
Sit in the messy middle between discovery and delivery so squads can start work without constant clarification.
Bring light structure to prioritisation by helping frame value vs effort.
Support releases by making sure features are genuinely ready rather than rushed over the line.
Progress ideas quickly, even the bad ones, so we can validate, learn and move on fast.
Build lightweight systems in the background so the value you create remains when you move on.
What I’m looking for
Strong B2B SaaS PM background
Comfortable in ambiguous, founder-led environments
Delivery-oriented, with a focus on Definitions of Done, scoping and unblocking teams
Happy to debate without ego, challenge assumptions and dig deeper than first impressions
Curious by default, expected to question and pressure-test ideas rather than accept them at face value
Experience working in temporary or contract PM roles
Domain experience in contact centre, analytics or AI is a bonus, not a must
Eye for design is helpful, but clarity beats polish
If this sounds like you or you know someone great, drop me an email and I’ll share more detail.
Thanks
