About this role

We are building a modern, scalable scheduling and operations platform serving academies (starting with cricket, ping pong, gymnastics) and public sector Parks & Recreation (cities/counties). Our product spans facility/resource booking → program enrollment → coaching sessions, with Stripe payments, role-based admin, and mobile-first workflows for coaches/field staff. We’re hiring a Product Manager to own discovery-to-delivery execution for core experiences, translate service blueprints into shipped functionality, and build a roadmap discipline that keeps a 500+ feature backlog coherent, measurable, and deliverable.

What you’ll own (responsibilities)

Product strategy & roadmap

  • Own the Phase 1 (US) roadmap across two go-to-market motions:

    • Academies (B2B): subscription model; end users (parents/coaches/students) pay $0 for access

    • Parks & Rec (Gov): annual subscription + transactional convenience fees

  • Drive prioritization using a structured framework (RICE, WSJF, or comparable) tied to business outcomes:

    • activation, booking conversion, utilization, no-show reduction, payment success, retention

Service design to delivery (people + process + tech)

  • Convert service blueprints (e.g., Parent enroll → coaching sessions → athlete mgmt and Facility/lane rental) into:

    • epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, phasing (v1.0/v1.5/v2.0), and release plans

  • Ensure the product works for multi-role operations:

    • admin/front desk, coaches, parents/guardians, city/county staff, finance/support

Cross-functional leadership

  • Partner with Design to ensure:

    • consistent design system usage, scalable interaction patterns, and parity decisions (mobile vs web)

  • Partner with Engineering/Architecture to:

    • define system requirements, data model implications, quality bars (security, audit, uptime), and integration boundaries

  • Partner with GTM/Customer Success to:

    • shape packaging, onboarding, rollout playbooks, and reference deployments

Delivery management and quality

  • Run sprint planning/grooming with Engineering; keep scope realistic and measurable

  • Own release readiness:

    • instrumentation, QA criteria, documentation, training materials, rollout risk plans

  • Establish product analytics and feedback loops:

    • dashboards, cohort analysis, funnel analysis, support ticket trends

What success looks like (first 90 days)

  • Roadmap clarity: a rational v1.0/v1.5/v2.0 plan that aligns to booking priority (Facility → Program → Coaching)

  • Two flagship journeys fully specified and in delivery:

    1. Academy: parent/guardian enroll → membership → book coaching → session summary

    2. Parks/Rec: facility reservation/permit → checkout → receipt/refund → comms

  • A working product cadence: weekly triage, biweekly planning, monthly roadmap review, quarterly OKR planning

  • Traceability: every top initiative links to customer evidence, acceptance criteria, and measurable KPI

Must-have qualifications

  • 5–10+ years Product Management experience in SaaS or platforms

  • Demonstrated work on at least one of:

    • scheduling/booking systems, marketplaces, operational tools, membership management, payments-heavy flows

  • Strong ability to write:

    • PRDs, epics/stories, BDD-style acceptance criteria, edge case and risk specs

  • Proven cross-functional leadership with design and engineering

  • Data fluency: defines KPIs, sets up instrumentation requirements, runs experiments when appropriate

Nice-to-have qualifications

  • Experience selling/implementing products in public sector procurement environments

  • Experience with Stripe payment flows, refunds, disputes, tax/fee disclosure

  • Experience with role-based access control UX (permissions/admin console)

  • Domain exposure to sports/fitness/youth development operations

Working style (what this role requires)

  • Systems thinker: can keep a large feature inventory coherent

  • Pragmatic: ships iteratively; can cut scope without losing product integrity

  • Detail-oriented: quality in edge cases, states, and parity decisions

  • Clear communicator: strong written and verbal executive updates
