Tom Coates is the Founder of Product Club and has a long background in social, local and future media. He ran R&D for BBC Radio before building online communities for emap and TimeOut. He was part of the Tech Development team at Yahoo, launching the Fire Eagle location service, and later as Head of Product for Yahoo Brickhouse. He is an advisor for several start-ups including Lanyrd and his own Product Club, which focuses on New Product Development and Invention.

In this talk from our product management conference Mind the Product 2012, he discusses the internet of things – how ever cheaper network hardware is bringing every day devices online – and whether that’s a good thing or not.
