Announcing the #mtpcon London 2016 Speakers

#mtpcon london[UPDATED] We’re really excited about this year’s #mtpcon London conference on September 30, as it promises to be our best yet. Not only are we adding a ton of optional events before and after the conference, we are doubling the number of workshops, adding more networking opportunities at the conference, bringing back the hot lunch buffet, and a whole lot more.

But most importantly, we are thrilled to bring you some of the best minds in product and design from around the world for some truly world-class content.

So without further ado, here are is our complete line-up:

Marty CaganMarty Cagan

Marty Cagan almost doesn’t need an introduction. He is the Founder of the Silicon Valley Product Group, where he works with and advises many of the leading technology teams in the world. Before founding SVPG to pursue his interests in helping others create successful products through his writing, speaking, investing and advising, Marty was most recently the original SVP of Product and Design for eBay. He began his career working for 10 years as a software developer at HP Labs, and then moved on to join a young Netscape Communications as their VP Platform and Tools. Marty is the author of Inspired: How To Create Products Customers Love, and publishes a popular blog for product teams at SVPG.

Elizabeth ChurchillElizabeth Churchill

Elizabeth is a Director of User Experience at Google, the Executive Vice President of the Association of Computing Machinery’s Special Interest Group on Human Computer Interaction (ACM SigCHI) and an ACM Distinguished Scientist. She is an applied social scientist, interactive technology designer and social communications researcher with a background in psychology (neuro, experimental, cognitive and social), Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Science. For the past 18 years she has drawn on social, computer, engineering and data sciences to create innovative end-user applications and services at Google, eBay, Yahoo, PARC and FujiXerox.

Simon CrossSimon Cross

Simon is a Product Manager at Facebook London. He’s currently focused on Facebook at Work with the goal of improving how people communicate and collaborate in the workplace. A native Brit, he’s just returned from three years in Silicon Valley where he was the lead PM for many of Facebook’s products for app developers including Facebook Login, the Graph API and the Like Button. Before Facebook, Simon held various product and engineering roles at the BBC. He’s helped early-stage startups sharpen their products through organizations like TechStars, Seedcamp and Entrepreneur First.

Alison CowardAlison Coward

Alison is the founder of Bracket and author of “A Pocket Guide to Effective Workshops”. She is a strategist, trainer and workshop facilitator. With 15 years’ experience of working in, leading and facilitating creative teams, Alison is passionate about finding the perfect balance between creativity and productivity. She founded Bracket to help teams with better collaboration, and has designed and facilitated workshops and events for a wide range of clients including: Barclaycard, Channel 4, D&AD, Etsy, Google and TrendWatching.

Tim HarfordTim Harford

Tim Harford is a senior columnist for the Financial Times. His long-running column, “The Undercover Economist”, reveals the economic ideas behind everyday experiences. He’s the author of the million-selling “The Undercover Economist” and more recently of “Adapt”. He’s won awards both for his Financial Times columns and his BBC radio series, “More or Less”, which debunks dubious statistics wherever they may lurk. He is an evangelist for the power of economics, wisely used, and has spoken at both TED and PopTech.

Jeff GothelfJeff Gothelf

Jeff has worked for 20+ years as a designer, team leader, author and coach, both in-house and as a consultant at companies like iXL, AOL, WebTrends, Fidelity, The Ladders and Neo Innovation. In 2013, he published his first book, “Lean UX: Applying lean principles to improve user experience” (O’Reilly) and in 2016 he published a new business book called “Sense & Respond” (Harvard Business Press) about how successful organisations listen to customers and create new products continuously. These days he spends his time as a coach, workshop leader and public speaker.

Lisa LongLisa Long

Lisa is the VP of Product at Telenor’s Product & Innovation Group and co-founder of Six to Start (makers of Zombies, Run!, the world’s leading fitness game.) She cut code in Silicon Valley during the 90’s dot com boom, helped expand a US startup into the UK, and then completed an INSEAD MBA in France & Singapore. She served as a coach for the Cartier Women’s Initiative, a global social entrepreneurship initiative, and coached teams to victory from France, Uruguay, India, and Italy. She’s lived in seven countries and speaks four languages, which gives invaluable perspective as she builds the infrastructure behind products for Telenor’s 200 million clients across the Nordics, Eastern Europe, and Southeast Asia.

David CancelDavid Cancel

David Cancel is a 5X co-founder and a 2X CEO with four successful exits to date. He’s the Co-Founder and CEO of Drift, where he’s helping everyone know, grow, and amaze their customers. David is passionate about building amazing products and previously founded Compete, Lookery, Ghostery, and Performable. Most recently, after the Acquisition of Performable by HubSpot, David was the Chief Product Officer responsible for re-architecting the engineering team and HubSpot’s products. He’s also active in the Boston tech community investing in and advising organizations like Charles River Ventures, Spark Capital, NextView Ventures, DormRoom Fund, EverTrue, Visible Measures, Yottaa, and HelpScout.

Donna LichawDonna Lichaw

Donna is the author of “The User’s Journey: Storymapping Products That People Love”. She is a user experience strategist and product manager with experience in multiple startups and organizations in New York and London, working with brands like Bloomberg, Citi, Casio, Atlantic Records, Sony Pictures, and New York Public Radio. She has also taught at New York University, Northwestern University, The School of Visual Arts, and Parsons the New School for Design. Prior to her career in technology, she refined her talent for storytelling and narrative development as an award-winning documentary filmmaker.

Jeff VeenJeff Veen

Jeff is a Design Partner at True Ventures, where he spends his time helping companies create better products. Jeff does this as an advisor, as well, for companies like about.me, Medium and WordPress. Previously, Jeff was VP of Design at Adobe after they acquired Typekit, the company he co-founded and ran as CEO. Jeff was also one of the founding partners of the user experience consulting group Adaptive Path. While there, he lead Measure Map, which was acquired by Google. During his time at Google, he redesigned Google Analytics and lead the UX team for Google’s apps. Much earlier, Jeff was part of the founding web team at Wired Magazine, where he helped build HotWired, Web Monkey, Wired News and many other sites. During that time, he authored two books, “HotWired Style” and “The Art and Science of Web Design.”
